O’Hare Airport Transit System
OVERVIEW
Construction on the O’Hare Airport Transit System
The City of Chicago hired DCA Contracting Services to manage the elevated O’Hare Airport Transit System (OATS) construction completion which consisted of 2.7 miles of track and stops at five stations connecting passengers with Terminals 1 through 3, International Terminal 5, and the remote long-term parking lots.
Capabilities and Operations
The 15-train cars are fully automated and operated from a remote operating and control facility. Besides the operation and movement of over 16 million passengers annually, OATS operates a 4-car, 16,000 SF maintenance garage in which they perform routine and overhaul maintenance.
DCA Contracting Services has extensive construction experience in the aviation industry, including projects like O’Hare International Terminal 5, O’Hare Modernization Program, Gary/Chicago Executive Jet Hangar, DuPage Airport Authority Hangar, DuPage Airport Executive Hangar, Lewis University Airport Private Hangar, and Runway 10C/28C Mass Grading South Basin and Pump Station.
