Oakbrook Terrace Police Station
OVERVIEW
Cost Management in Municipal Construction
DCA Contracting services, Inc. was brought on during schematic design to perform constructability review, value engineering, schedule management, and cost management for the Oakbrook Terrace Police Station construction project. Project architect Williams Architects stated,
“Reuse of the existing site and building was carefully planned to control traffic, incorporate access from multiple directions, segregate public and staff functions and create a new image for the City.”
The facility is a single-story, 36,000 SF structure. It includes five cells, a booking area, armory, and gun cleaning area, a bag and tag area with evidence processing, an evidence vault, three interview rooms, and a sally port. DCA Contracting Services’s cost management expertise provided cost savings for the facility to add features to better serve the department and increase efficiencies.
