OVERVIEW

Hangar Construction for DuPage County

DCA Contracting Services was awarded the design-build contract to add to the DuPage Airport Authority’s Hangar project. The hangar construction involved much structural steel, coordination, and daily airport operations. The 48,000 SF addition to the existing facility was designed to hold two additional planes and included the associated access taxiways. The project was an addition to match the existing hangar facility in quality, look, and finish. DCA Contracting Services’s responsibilities included construction of the hangar and site development.

DuPage Airport Hangar

Chicagoland’s DuPage Airport Authority, located in the western suburban area, is home to the largest concentration of corporate aircraft in Illinois. It is the only general aviation airport in Illinois with four active runaways, two instrument landing system approaches and a 24-hour Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Control Tower, U.S. Customs, and 24-hour onsite aircraft rescue and firefighting capabilities. We have a long track record of completing technical coordination of work on airfields. We have completed such work at O’Hare International Airport, Chicago Midway Airport, Gary/Chicago Airport, DuPage Airport, and the Aurora Municipal Airport.
