Chevron Phillips Plastics Complex and S.I.T. Facility (Pasadena)
OVERVIEW
DCA Contracting Services constructed a brand new S.I.T. facility at Chevron’s Pasadena Plastics Complex. This facility is the largest of the three facilities for Chevron as it includes 62,415 ft. of wood tie storage track, 6,910 ft. of steel tie track construction, and 1,692 ft. of direct fixation track on a 60-acre site. This site also has a transload road with a truck scale and an office building.
The site development included underground drainage systems, a lime-stabilized subgrade with a biaxial geogrid, and site utilities (including communication and CCTV) brought to the site from within the existing plant. Additionally, a concrete trans-load road, aggregate service roads, and concrete plant roads were added during this project. There is also a small office building to accommodate the expanded capabilities brought to the company from the added capacity of the SIT yard. DCA Contracting Services also added a retention pond and pump station to the S.I.T. Yard.
